BIRATNAGAR — Everest Secondary School (https://ebs.edu.np/), located in Biratnagar-5, conducted specialized training on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for its teaching and administrative staff to make classroom instruction more modern and effective.
Around 150 teachers and staff members—ranging from Playgroup to Grade 12—participated in the sessions. The training was facilitated by a 13-member team led by computer science expert Pratik Pradhan from ‘My Second Teacher.’
Everest, which has been offering the UK-based Digi School’s NCC course from Grade 3, organized the program to equip educators with hands-on skills in various AI tools, aligning classroom instruction with rapid technological advancements.
Participants noted that the training would make daily teaching more streamlined and result-oriented. Teacher Susmita Koirala shared that learning new AI tools will help educators transform curricular subjects into engaging projects and creative teaching materials. Similarly, teacher Elisa Adhikari stated that the insights gained will make everyday classroom delivery more systematic and impactful. Vice Principal Kundan Puri expressed confidence that AI tools will prove invaluable across the entire teaching process, from crafting lesson plans to executing them effectively in the classroom.
The school currently conducts classes using laptops, projectors, and internet connectivity across all rooms, and plans to install smart boards in every classroom starting next academic session. ‘Smart boards will be installed in every classroom beginning next academic session,’ said Principal Tikaram Puri. ‘As technology evolves, our teaching and learning methodologies will become entirely tech-friendly.’
Continuing its focus on information technology, Everest Secondary School also launched a Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) program in affiliation with Kathmandu University (KU) this academic session.
